How to Report Bugs for Ashes of Creation Alpha Two and PTR

When you are playing Ashes of Creation Early Access on either Alpha Two or PTR, it is inevitable that you will run across a bug or unintended game mechanic. Your reports help make Verra a more bug-free place. 

Below are some tips to help make sure our Developers are able to squash those bugs. 

Always report issues with /bug. Feel free to discuss issues in the various Discord channels, check the Known Issues on the forums, or even post your bugs in Bug Report forum. However, the best place to get your bug report seen is with /bug. 

Are you able to reproduce the issue? Use /bug to provide us with step-by-step actions you took when you encountered the issue. 

If the bug prevents you from getting in the game or you are not able to submit your report in-game, the Bug Report forums are the next best place.

All bugs reported with /bug are reviewed by our Quality Assurance team. Including good information in your bug report and explaining how to reproduce a bug, makes it easier for our team to track, log, and escalate your issue.

 

  1. Type /bug in the game's chat window or click on Report Bug in the Main Menu
    		•   
  2. This will open the Report Bug interface
  3. Brief Description
    • Explain what the issue is, making sure to remain concise
    • Keep this to 1 or 2 sentences 
  4. Type
    • Choose from the listed fields the category that best fits your issue
    • It is ok if there isn't an exact match, just choose the closest category
  5. Sub-Type
    • Further refine the category here
  6. Exploit?
    • Check this box if the bug involves an issue that can be exploited by players to gain an advantage
  7. Report Details
    1. This is the extra important section
    2. Try to use bullet points - it can be hard to pull useful details from a long paragraph
    3. Include the steps that resulted in the bug - the little details here are important
    4. Include the result of the bug
      1. What happened?
      2. What did you expect to happen?
    5. Include details on whether the bug blocked your progress (eg finishing a quest, buying from a vendor, killing another player)
    6. Where were you when the bug occurred?
      1. Your location is recorded when you press Submit
      2. If you want to see your current XYZ location or Server Worker (SW), press Page Up
      3. Numbers after the decimal in your XYZ are not important
    7. Are you able to reproduce the issue? Can you make this happen every time, or does it only happen sometimes (eg 1/3 repro, 3/3 repro - this means 1 of 3 times it reproduced, or 3 of 3 times)
    8. Does the bug only impact your character or does it affect other players as well? 
  8. Include Screenshot
    • When you press the Submit button, and you have this box checked, the game will capture and include a screenshot
